Book was really touching and hit on addiction. It also dealt with how toxic two people can become when they turn to substances to handle problems rather than seek help. Cee and zee had that chemistry and from the minute they met they had an undeniable pull. The author did a good job of demonstrating the pros and cons of the lifestyle of a musician. Had very detail erotic scenes. There were parts of the books that I felt that the author could of do without but maybe it was a way to show the characters path of destruction to steer them on the right path.. All in all it was a good read and I recommend....Product details

I have mixed feelings about the two main characters Chadwick Benedict and Indira Frederickson. for most of the book, I disliked the characters, even though they were 2 creative talented people, they were seriously flawed and dysfunctional. Most of their relationship centered on alcohol, drugs and reckless sex. Towards the end there was redemption of sorts but by then it didn't matter to me.
I chose this rating because Lavender Parker is an excellent writer. It was very hard for me to put the book down when I needed to sleep. I liked that the main characters were not perfect. They had flaws like everyone does. The conclusion was great and made me smile. I have enjoyed reading all her books and ready for the next one to be released. Keep up the great writing Lavender Parker!!
This story is really worth the buy, I'm so glad that I got a glimpse of it in Knockout.
The Burning One really does take you on an emotional rollercoaster, where at times I found myself disliking H&H separately as well as together.
The quality of Ms. Parker`s work really shines through, I really can't gush anymore about this story you should really give it a try
I don't know what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised by this book!! This was a Great Great Read. I love the complications & flaws of both Cee & Zee . This was a book did not put down until I finished it. THX 4 writing it & have bought more of your books & enjoying them as well !! So u will have more good reviews from me. They both almost burned to death emotionally before they found their happiness. Better than I expected. I would love for Ms. Lavender to develop few more of her characters from the St.James (Kids of Ice) series.
This book made me SWEAT! Zee is best described by the lyrics of a Rick James' song..."She is a very kinky girl". Cee hooked up with an older woman who turned him out!!!!! This book is a story of addictions on several levels. Once I started reading I had to finish because I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out. I've read a couple of other books by this author and they were all steamy but this one is a scorcher. I look forward to other works by this author.
I wasn't impressed with the age difference at first, so I stopped reading the book. Then I thought to myself, this is a Lavender Parker book, there is no way that I wouldn't like it. Needless to say, the book was read in a day! I couldn't put this book down. It gave me a look into the lives of couples who have a big age difference. It gave me an inside view into the lives of drug and alcohol dependency. It gave me an insight on how easily we are tempted to destroy ourselves for love, but regain our strength and sanity with that same love. I enjoyed this story and as usual, Lavender Parker did her thing!
